Welcome to Boundary Oak Senior School, for children aged 11 to 16.

Boundary Oak Senior School is the perfect environment for your child, from the ages of 11 to 16, to explore and develop their potential as an individual. Life in the Senior School is busy, filled with academic purpose, extra-curricular activity and outdoor life.

Our primary aim is to inspire our pupils intellectually and academically while giving each pupil a passion and a reason to want to come to school. We want them to have a love of learning that stays with them throughout their time at school and beyond.

Mrs Wendy Spiers, Head of Senior School (Lower)

We also want them to be resilient, reflective and responsible learners. Our classes are small yet there is a breadth of subjects inside and outside the classroom to allow pupils to have a tailored, fulfilling education.

The broad and exciting curriculum on offer in our Prep department continues into our Senior School which begins in Year 7.

Our teaching staff represent some of the best in their field and as such we strive to ensure that each child reaches their academic potential successfully, while also enjoying their Senior School experience.

Pupils are given the guidance to choose their GCSE options in Year 9 from a large array of subjects. Currently, the choices make for year-on-year bespoke option blocks allowing pupils to take between eight and ten GCSEs.

The pupils learn the core subjects of maths, English and science which are set to allow the ablest to have the stretch and challenge whilst allowing the pupils who need it, the support and pace that is appropriate.

Pupils also have a varied academic programme which includes art & design, computing, drama, French, food and nutrition, geography, history, music, outdoor learning, PE, PSHE, religious studies and Spanish.

Please see the GCSEs Page for more on Year 10 and 11.
