Drama

Boundary Oak excels at instilling confidence and resilience in its pupils by providing multiple opportunities to perform on stage.

Drama is a compulsory subject of our school curriculum and all pupils throughout the school partake in weekly lessons. We not only have specialist drama teachers, offering additional individual drama peri lessons for those who would like to, we also boast our own purpose-built theatre.

Pupils have the opportunity to take to the stage, build confidence and showcase hidden talents, be it in theatrical performances, public speaking, poetry recitals or debating. In addition, pupils are also able to get involved with technical lighting and sound, stage production, costume and make-up.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) is a nationally recognised theatre qualification. Pupils who opt to do additional Drama Peri lessons will have the opportunity to work towards their LAMDA qualifications in the summer term. Pupils work together on developing their performances, with guidance from drama teachers. Performers can choose to perform monologues, duologues or devised theatre – or all three!  They must be able to commit to regular weekly attendance to these additional lessons.
