With plenty of indoor and outdoor space including their own garden, trike track, mud kitchen, and even our Woodland School, our little acorns benefit from 30 acres of beautiful school grounds for bug hunting, puddle jumping or simply chasing your friends around in the wind!
Our Pre-School offers full or part-time education and provides the perfect transition into ‘big school’. This is the place where our little acorns really start to grow.
As your child progresses from Pre-School to our Reception class, you can still claim 15 funded hours off the academic school fees until the term that your child turns five.
A Caring Environment
At Little Acorns, we provide a nurturing, caring environment where children learn through play and learning-based activities. A broad and balanced curriculum provides the opportunity to develop concepts, attitudes, knowledge and skills to prepare them for the next stage of their education, personal and social development.
The wonderful environment, which is homely, engaging, inspiring, safe and supportive allows our little ones plenty of opportunity to explore and create, both indoors and out.
French is introduced at Pre-School and specialist teachers also take the children for sport, outdoor learning, PE and music. The children also love to take part in school plays, musical afternoons and other events such as carols around the campfire with their families.
The Early Years staff work together across our Pre-School and Reception years to provide a rich and stimulating learning environment. Sports days, science exploration and Forest Fridays in our Woodland School, are all part of their regular learning experiences.
Our Pre-School offers full or half-day sessions and wraparound care for working parents, helping to take the stress out of busy days, while also offering flexible sessions to work around the school run.
Early Years Funding
These can be claimed against all hours that our Pre-School is open, from 8:00am to 4:00pm during term-time. As our Pre-School pupils receive a range of lessons delivered by specialist teachers, including French, PE, outdoor learning and music, there will be an enhanced provision charge of £2 for every funded hour claimed by children eligible for the EYE Grant during our core hours.
EYE is accepted up to 30 free hours. Children aged three and four can claim their funded hours at Boundary Oak School from the term after their third birthday.
