Fundraising In Full Colour

The end of year Colour Run had become one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the school calendar, and for good reason. It was time to forget the buttoned up white shirts, blazers and polished shoes. By the end of the afternoon, every runner had been transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour, and judging by the smiles on their faces, they wouldn’t have had it any other way!
Organised by our Pupil Leadership Team, the day brought together pupils, families and staff for an afternoon that perfectly captured the spirit of our school - joyful, inclusive and firmly rooted in community. Better still, every splash of colour helped raise funds for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, one of our chosen school charities for the 2025-26 academic year.
We were delighted to welcome representatives from the charity, who spent time with pupils and families sharing the incredible work they do across our region. It was a wonderful opportunity for our community to see first-hand how their fundraising helps support a service that saves lives every day, adding an even greater sense of purpose to the celebrations.
Our grounds quickly took on the feel of a summer festival as families gathered to enjoy the final day of term together. A bake sale tempted visitors with homemade treats, a slushie van provided a popular colourful and cooling stop in the sunshine and picnic blankets dotted the grounds as parents and friends cheered on the runners.

With pupils setting off in staggered waves, from our youngest children in Pre-Prep through to the Senior School, there was a wonderful sense of anticipation before each race. Members of the Pupil Leadership Team led energetic dance warm-ups, encouraging spectators to join in before the countdown began. Then, with one spectacular burst from Headmistress Mrs Savage’s colour cannon, the air filled with vibrant clouds of powder and the runners were off.

The course offered plenty of adventure along the way. Pupils scrambled over the summit scramble, tackled the speed ladder sprint, crawled beneath cargo nets, wound their way through our woodland area and dashed beneath rainbow parachutes; all the while being hit with more colour along the way. By the time they crossed the finish line, white t-shirts had become colourful masterpieces, with every participant wearing the day’s memories as brightly as the powder itself.
Yet, while the obstacles and explosions of colour made for unforgettable photographs, they were only part of the story. The greatest success of the day was seeing our whole community come together. Parents and pupils encouraged one another over every obstacle, as families lined the course with enthusiastic applause.
It was a celebration of a community that embraces every opportunity give back to others and create memories that will last long after the colours have washed away.
As another remarkable year came to an end, there could hardly have been a more fitting finale.
