Former Head Boy Flourishes Beyond Boundary Oak

  • Senior School

Class of 2024, Oliver was selected for Cross Country Nationals

Our pupils continue to progress to a diverse range of schools and colleges across England, thanks to the personalised opportunities we provide in developing essential employability skills. These skills include problem-solving, communication, critical thinking, risk-taking, creativity, and teamwork—each of which plays a crucial role in preparing our pupils for success in both further education and their future careers.

One such example is Oliver, the Head Boy from the Class of 2024, whose passion for academics and athletics has shaped his journey. On GCSE Results Day, Oliver achieved an outstanding set of results, earning nine grade 9s and one grade 8. With these impressive grades, he was ready to embark on the next step of his educational journey at Peter Symonds College.

Just a term into his time at Sixth Form, we caught up with Oliver to hear about his experiences so far. Alongside his academic achievements, he was selected to represent the Southeast Team at the Nationals AOC for Cross Country, a testament to his dedication both in the classroom and on the track.

"I’ve just finished my first term at Peter Symonds in Winchester, and it’s been amazing. It’s still unusual not being at Boundary Oak everyday, seeing I was there for 8 years! It’s been surprisingly easy to make and find friends with new and similar interests, but also still seeing many old friends all around the site. Being at Boundary Oak has really helped me prepare for college, helping me cultivate my enjoyment of the subjects I’m learning and managing my time. While there is a lot more study or independent time at college compared to Boundary Oak, and certainly a lot more people, it still has that charm that I always loved at Boundary Oak. I am excited to continue the rest of my studies at Peter Symonds and take the lessons and skills I learned at Boundary Oak with me.”

Oliver’s story is just one example of how our tailored approach helps pupils achieve their full potential, not only academically but also in extracurricular pursuits. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and look forward to supporting all our pupils as they continue to thrive in their respective fields. As they prepare for the next chapter of their lives, we remain committed to helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to excel in every aspect of their journey.
