Celebrating Generosity and Growth
- Junior School
- Senior School
As a co-educational day and boarding school for children aged two to sixteen, kindness and community spirit are at the heart of everything we do. Our Kindness Counts initiative encourages pupils to support others in the school and wider community, highlighting the significance of reciprocating kindness.
Every year we organise a fundraising campaign for three charities voted for by our pupils. As we reflect on our fundraising efforts from 2024, we are filled with immense pride and the deepest gratitude for the incredible generosity of our community that has helped make a difference both locally and globally. Thanks to the commitment and enthusiasm of our pupils, parents, and staff, we raised a remarkable £5,965 for charities: WWF, Macmillan Cancer Support, Naomi House and Jacks Place. From bake sales, charity stalls and non-uniform days to sports tournaments, Christmas Carolling and Whole School marathons – our charity club, run by Years 6 and 8 Charity Captains organises a wealth of activity that sees the entire community get involved.
Introducing Our 2025 Charities: A Bright Future for Support
Fast forward to 2025 and we are thrilled to announce this year’s charity partners: WWF, Honeypot Children’s Charity, and Dogs Trust. These organisations are doing incredible work toprotect our planet, support vulnerable children, and care for animals in need. Through our fundraising efforts, we will help WWF safeguard ecosystems and fight climate change, empower Honeypot to provide respite for children facing adversity and support Dogs Trust in rehoming and caring for thousands of dogs across the UK.
Buzz for a Cause and Beyond
One of the highlights of this year’s campaign was our Buzz for a Cause event – a giant tea party celebrating young carers and their families, raising a total of £482.22. This event was a true collaborative effort across our school community, with a wide berth of co-curricular clubs supporting the event. Pupils worked together to create thoughtful, handcrafted gifts for the event. From mini bees crocheted by the Crochet and Sewing Club, hand-carved wooden bees from the Carving Club and bee-themed pots in the Ceramics Club to honey cookies from the Cooking Club, 3D printed bumblebee bookmarks in the Computer Science Club and beeswax candles in Eco Warriors (made from the school’s beehives) – all contributions reflected teamwork, compassion and collective responsibility.
Looking Ahead: More Opportunities for Giving Back
We are eager to continue launching new ways our community can unite and continue to build on the kindness and generosity shown to our local and global world. Our next event will see the community meet, along with their four-legged friends and participate in a waggy tail trail in aid of Dogs Trust! The pupils hope to be just as successful in raising support for worthwhile causes in 2025 and already, have seen incredible efforts, such as our school’s fantastic participation in Comic Relief, where we raised an impressive £903.08. This initiative, along with our Buzz for a Cause event, is just the beginning of what promises to be another year of flourishing efforts. From beach clean-ups and bake sales to collaborative co-curricular projects, we are confident that 2025 will inspire even greater respect and compassion in all of us.
