Boundary Oak Welcomes the World for a Memorable Global Olympics
- Junior School
- Senior School
Boundary Oak School was delighted to host the Globeducate Global Olympics, a vibrant two-day celebration of sport, teamwork and international friendship, bringing together 180 pupils from 24 schools across seven countries.
Pupils in Years 6–9 represented both the school and the wider global community with great pride, embracing every opportunity to connect, collaborate and compete with their peers from around the world. The event was a true reflection of Boundary Oak’s ethos, “Where We Flourish,” as pupils grew in confidence, resilience and global understanding.

A Festival of Sport and Team Spirit
Across the two days, pupils took part in a wide range of sporting activities designed to challenge and inspire. Events included athletics, lacrosse, archery, football, table tennis and pickleball, alongside orienteering and outdoor learning challenges that encouraged teamwork, problem-solving and leadership.
Participants were placed into eight mixed-nationality teams, named after London Underground lines: Central, District, Circle, Victoria, Elizabeth, Hammersmith, Northern and Jubilee. These teams quickly formed strong bonds, supporting one another throughout the competition. After two days of energetic and enthusiastic participation, Team Jubilee emerged as the overall winners – a fantastic achievement celebrated by all.
Moments Beyond the Competition
While the days were filled with sport, the evenings offered equally memorable experiences. On the first night, pupils gathered around a campfire, sharing stories and laughter, strengthening friendships in a relaxed and welcoming environment. On the second evening, the event concluded with a lively disco, where pupils celebrated together in a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
These shared moments off the field were just as important as the competitions themselves, allowing pupils to immerse themselves in different cultures and build lasting international friendships.

Developing Global Citizens
The Global Olympics was about far more than sport. Through collaborative activities and challenges, pupils developed key skills such as communication, resilience and leadership, while gaining valuable perspectives from their peers across the Globeducate network.
One participating pupil reflected: “It was an amazing experience to meet students from different countries and work together as a team. I learned so much both on and off the sports field.”
Headteacher Mrs Savage also highlighted the importance of such opportunities:
“The Globeducate Global Olympics provides a unique opportunity for pupils to develop confidence, resilience and international perspectives beyond the classroom. come together with such confidence, kindness, and team spirit. Throughout the event, I was continually inspired by the friendships formed, the encouragement shared between teams, and the willingness of every student to embrace new experiences. It was wonderful to see students from different backgrounds and cultures. We are incredibly proud of how our pupils represented Boundary Oak School throughout the event.”

A Proud Moment for the Boundary Oak Community
Hosting this international event was a proud milestone for Boundary Oak School. It perfectly showcased the school’s commitment to providing enriching experiences that complement academic learning and help pupils flourish both personally and socially.
From outdoor challenges to global collaboration, the Global Olympics embodied the spirit of Boundary Oak - encouraging every pupil to grow, connect and flourish.
We look forward to building on the success of this truly special event and continuing to offer opportunities that inspire our pupils to become confident, compassionate and globally-minded young people.
