Boundary Oak Celebrates Best-Ever GCSE Results with 97% Pass Rate

  • Senior School

We are delighted to be celebrating our strongest GCSE results on record, with a 97% overall pass rate and exceptional achievements across a broad range of subjects, with 40% of pupils securing Grade 7 (A/A*) or higher.

Outstanding individual achievements

Among the exceptional individual performances was that of Head Girl Bonnie, who achieved an impressive 10 Grade 9s. Bonnie joined Boundary Oak in Reception and, alongside her academic achievements, represents Hampshire at Youth Parliament. She has also secured a place at her chosen Sixth Form.

The school was equally proud to see pupils achieve significant progress from their individual starting points. A third of pupils achieved exceptional value-added scores, gaining an average of +2 grades per subject compared with their baseline assessments.

Mason, who joined Boundary Oak as a military boarding pupil in Year 3, achieved an average +2.5 grade gain across his subjects, demonstrating the strengths of our boarding house and whole-school approach to academic development.

Strong results across the curriculum

The GCSE results were strong across a wide range of subjects.

  • In Further Mathematics, 100% of pupils achieved Grade 7 or above, while 80% of Triple Science students achieved Grade 7 or above.
  • In Geography, History, Business Studies, French and Music, at least 60% of pupils achieved Grade 7 or higher in each of these subjects.
  • Design & Technology and Food & Nutrition also exceeded baseline expectations by more than one grade on average.

Celebrating more than results

Headteacher Sophie Savage congratulated the Year 11 students on their achievements:

“Today is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students, and I am absolutely delighted with the results they have achieved. These outcomes reflect not only their academic ability, but also the dedication, perseverance and positive attitude they have demonstrated throughout their time at Boundary Oak School.”

Looking ahead

Boundary Oak is immensely proud of every member of its Year 11 cohort and the commitment they have shown throughout their GCSE journey.

These results represent not only academic success, but the progress, confidence and personal development of young people who have embraced the opportunities available to them throughout their time at the school.

We congratulate all our GCSE pupils and look forward to following their continued success as they move on to the next stage of their education.
