Boundary Oak pupils were excited to receive confirmation of winning results.
During the Autumn Term, Boundary Oak pupils were excited to receive confirmation of winning results in the Independent Schools Association (ISA) Art Competition and the Globeducate, Global Arts Competition.
ISA Success
The ISA National Art Competition takes place annually, inviting participation from all pupils at ISA schools (ISA, 2024). From dozens of categories, spanning all age groups, pupils could showcase their creative talents – from 2D and 3D art to textiles, drawing, fashion and photography. With the event held in two stages, at Regional and National level, we were delighted to report highlights from both stages.
Just before October Half Term, we received the news that Freya, Clarke, Lily, and Olivia all received awards at Regionals -
Freya H in Year 11 came 1st in the KS3 2D Art Category
for her captivating painting called ‘The Swimmer’.
Clarke G in Year 3 came 1st in the KS2 3D Art Category
for his meticulously detailed ‘Fossil Vase’.
Lily S in Year 5 came 1st in the KS2 Textiles Category
for her beautifully sewn blanket.
Olivia G in Year 5 came 2nd in the KS2 Photography Category
for her coastal capture of The Lighthouse of La Corbière, Jersey.
The following month saw the National and final stage of the competition take place, seeing Freya and Clark receive special recognition. Clark secured 2nd place with his 3D creation while Freya was awarded Highly Commended for her 2D piece.
Making Waves in the Globeducate Global Arts Competition
Together, with 50 other Globeducate schools, Boundary Oak proudly participated in the Global Arts Competition celebrating creativity through the theme ‘Marine’.
Globeducate’s proud partnerships with Eco Schools and WWF, Globeducate continue to fulfil their mission to address the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and this year’s theme raised awareness of Goal 14: Life Below Water.
The competition showcased incredible talent, with entries highlighting the beauty and importance of marine life and ocean conservation so we were delighted that our talented Year 2 pupils earned 2nd place in the Lower Primary Ages Category (Ages 5-7) for their brilliant sculpture of rainbow fishes.
Inspired by our magnificent feature in the Art Studio whereby every pupil in Years 1-9 designed and painted a watercolour fish, the entry paid homage to this celebrating the unique personalities and talents that make our community at Boundary Oak so special.
Cultivating Creativity
These competitions not only recognise the impressive talents of our pupils but also pay testament to our commitment to cultivating creativity in our vibrant community. We are incredibly proud of all our pupils who participated. You can learn more about our arts programme by exploring our Junior School and Senior School sections on our website.
