The Prep School at Boundary Oak
Inspiring personal development and academic growth for 8-11 year olds (Years 4-6).
In the Prep School, we build on the strong foundations of Pre-Prep, continuing to embrace our 7Rs values as we grow into confident, curious learners. Teachers work closely with each pupil, offering personalised opportunities to dive deeper into areas of interest.
In Years 4 and 5, a class teacher leads in core and humanities subjects, supported by specialist teachers for complementary subjects. By Year 6 all subjects are taught by specialists, with a dedicated Form Tutor providing guidance and support.
Beyond the classroom, visits, trips, charity events, and engaging activities bring the curriculum to life, fostering a sense of adventure and community.

Growth mindset
Challenge is at the heart of developing a growth mindset. It gives pupils the chance to take risks, learn from setbacks, and discover how to bounce back stronger.
Our voluntary prep website offers exciting opportunities for pupils to complete mini-projects to further enhance their learning. These include writing balanced arguments in debates, tackling maths challenges and developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
