Sport at Boundary Oak Junior School
Our award-winning sports department is a firm pupil favourite, thanks to our belief in offering sports for all.
Every pupil has the opportunity to develop skills and enjoy the benefits of physical activity and team participation.
Sports play a vital role in the Junior School, and everyone gets a chance to join a team. Participation in team sports helps children cultivate foundational skills across decision-making and leadership while building self-confidence, self-control, and respect for others.
PE allocation
Our youngest pupils have 2 hours of PE a week with a specialist teacher. From Year 3, pupils, sport provision increases to 4.5 hours of specialist-taught sport per week.
In Prep, we offer competitive and recreational sports options, including regular inter-house termly competitions and an annual swimming gala.
Sports facilities
Our facilities are shared across the school, including a spacious sports hall, a swimming pool, Astroturf courts and outdoor pitches and cricket nets for sporting activities.
