Useful Information (FAQs)

We follow the National Curriculum for England, culminating in GCSEs/iGCSEs. 

Boarders arrive the night before the start of term. If for any reason they can’t arrive on this date, please let Mrs Plumpton, Head of Boarding, know. Help will be on hand for luggage and belongings. 

UK boarders should arrive by 18:30. International boarders may arrive between 16:00 and 22:00 to accommodate different flight arrival times. Please ensure your child has eaten before they arrive.

Mrs Plumpton will coordinate with families regarding end of term arrangements. 

• We wake up at 07:00
• The school day starts at 08:20
• Lessons end between 16:00 and 16:30 depending on age group
• Clubs take place from 16:30 to 17:30
• Big Tea (dinner) takes place after clubs 
• Prep (homework time) is at 18:30
• Lights out time is between 20:30 and 22:00, depending on the age group

We have sick bays and a dedicated school nurse in the case of mild illnesses. If required, we also have a doctor on hand and the local hospital is a 15-minute drive away.

Boarders are allowed to use a mobile phone during free time in the boarding house and at weekends. Mobile phones are not permitted during school hours, and phones must be handed in before boarders go up to bed. Please refer to our technology policy for more information.

Pocket money is handy for weekend trips off-site. All money should be handed to a boarding staff member for safekeeping.
