Military Boarding School
Boundary Oak provides a home away from home for children of forces families.
At Boundary Oak, we understand the unique challenges and sacrifices of military life. That’s why we’ve built a community that feels like family, with many of our staff having served in the armed forces or coming from military families themselves. This shared experience fosters a deep sense of understanding, empathy, and connection with the children and families we support.
Our Boarding House offers family-style living, blending a nurturing, stable environment with outstanding education and enriching co-curricular activities. Weekend excursions, adventure opportunities, and a wide range of hobbies ensure that our boarders have a fulfilling and fun-filled experience.
The Head of Boarding and our dedicated Boarding Team are always on hand to provide tailored support, whether it’s addressing specific worries or ensuring that the wider school community is aware of individual needs. This whole-school pastoral approach ensures every child feels supported, valued, and at home.

Welcome from the Headmistress
As a military wife and mother of two children, I deeply understand the unique challenges that come with having a loved one away for extended periods. We strive to create a home away from home for your children, a place where they feel safe, supported and part of a community that truly understands their experiences.
Our school's strong connection to the armed forces is not just a part of our heritage; it is a reflection of the values we live by every day. We are here to walk alongside your family, offering a nurturing space where your child can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Given the nature of our school and its location, it is no surprise that we have a good number of military families within the school. Please do get in touch if you would like to find out more.
Building bonds with other military families
For children with parents in the military, we strive to create a steady and comforting environment that helps them flourish. Our experienced boarding team appreciate the unique pressures of military life and work closely with families to offer the understanding, care, and encouragement every child needs to thrive.
To further strengthen these connections, our Military Support Club meets weekly, bringing together teachers with military experience and military children. This club provides a safe and supportive space for sharing experiences and building bonds with others who understand their unique situations, fostering an even stronger sense of community.

Boarding at Boundary Oak has been some of the best years of my life with constant laughter. If it wasn't for this school I wouldn't have realised my passion for rugby.
