Welcome from the Headmistress
Since joining Boundary Oak in January 2016 as a Mathematics teacher and bringing my two children along, I have truly felt the magic of this school. From the open fields to the kind-hearted children and the incredibly supportive staff, Boundary Oak has always felt like more than just a place to work. It quickly became a community and a home.
My journey here has been one of growth and joy. I began as a teacher, moved to Head of Maths, then Head of Seniors, and eventually became Deputy Head Academic. In these roles, I had the pleasure of introducing GCSEs, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, ski trips, and so much more—each of which has become a cherished part of our school culture. In September 2021, I became Headmistress, a role I am deeply honoured to hold.
As a parent and an educator, I am passionate about creating a joyful, fulfilling experience for every child. Childhood only comes once, and it should be filled with happiness, discovery, and growth. Our approach at Boundary Oak is rooted in a broad, engaging curriculum that extends well beyond the classroom walls. From our diverse co-curricular offerings to our nurturing environment, we encourage every child to explore new interests, uncover hidden talents, and embrace challenges that build resilience and confidence.
We aim to ensure that every child leaves Boundary Oak not only academically prepared but also socially and personally enriched. We foster curiosity, resilience, and openness to new experiences, instilling qualities that will serve our pupils well in their future journeys. Through house competitions, all pupils have the opportunity to engage in debating, public speaking, performing, and much more. In sports, every child is part of a team—no one is left out—which teaches camaraderie, teamwork, and resilience.
Our extensive clubs programme, with over 100 different options, provides pupils with the chance to discover new passions. How do you know if you’ll love something until you try it?
Visitors to Boundary Oak often comment on the warm, happy atmosphere here, and I believe that’s because we’ve built a culture of positive relationships. Our behaviour model emphasises kindness, respect, and support between teachers and pupils, peers, and even older children helping younger ones. As a boarding school, we are a home away from home for some pupils, which brings a special, family-like warmth to our community and excellent care for our day pupils, making it an ideal choice for working parents.
I warmly invite you to visit Boundary Oak, where you can experience first-hand how unique and welcoming our school truly is.
